I was trying for an image where I am very close to the barnacles and wanted the wave to be hitting the rock and get frozen in air (of course in the frame! ;) ).
Since I was playing with the sea water which is sticky and contains minute sand in it, getting the equipment wet was a costly affair (and which I never wanted to do as well)! So I zeroed in on one position where I felt safer and waited for a slightly bigger wave to come and hit the rock. After deciding on the composition and holding the camera in the desired angle I was no longer looking through the view finder rather than concentrated on how fast I need to take away the camera as soon as the wave hits the rock. I needed to be very very quick in order to save my equipment from the nasty spill.
After about five minutes I got a wave which hit the rock really hard. Harder than I had thought. This was the penultimate frame taken while I was pulling my camera back. The barnacle remained as a hint at the bottom with the hint of the sea in the back.

The image gives the feel that my camera is almost gone, but luckily I was quick enough to take away the camera with only few drops on the front filter.

Close shave this Ashwin :)
But such close encounters do have lessons hidden underneath. Thanks for trying for all of us.
