How did you achieve this? Just the characteristics of the lens or something else? I liked the effect very much.

I reversed the front glass element of a cheap manual focus lens. Very difficult to work with in the field. But gives some interesting results, if managed well.

Very nice Ashwin! I like the fact that you eliminated colour it's actually working well to draw all the attention towards the subtle texture which I believe may have been compromised in the colour version.
