It was slowly becoming another cloudy evening in Bangalore. I rushed to the terrace to capture some action. Clouds were gathering fast. I had little time. My stupidity (of forgetting the CF card at home 8-) ) had cost me dear where I wasted around 3 min :(

After making some still images of the cloud pattern, decided to experiment something like this. With the camera in the Tv pushed the shutter to around 1/20th and I started turning round and round.

West side of the sky was turning Yellow and there was some blue sky visible...Decided to focus on the blue portion and started turning...Result is here without any crop.

While I have not understood the technique clearly, I must say this is a unique perspective Ashwin ! Larger version would add to the viewing pleasure. Thanks for sharing..

Ganesh, with the slow shutter I just moved with a whirling motion facing the camera upwards towards the sky. The focus point was set in the region which is blue. Due to my slight side wise motion it shifted a bit.

Nice to see it, I had made the same thing many times, mostly with the stars with very long shutter speed. May be posting soon.

Ashwini, if I understand right, u've rotated ur camera while the shutter was released. Its certainly yielded lovely results.
I've seen other portrait photographers trying out this technique while using rear sync flash on their subject.
Sky with such wonderful clouds is a nice subject to try this experiment. Really liked the results here.

Ashwin, I like this and nice effect. I did try similar technique with rocks in Ramnagara. However your image with sky component is good.
